SAP Learning, at learning.sap.com, is where SAP now puts its official training, and most of the self-paced learning journeys are free. For a company whose training used to sit almost entirely behind SAP Learning Hub subscriptions, that is a welcome change. Search interest for SAP Learning is up around 23% on last year, which fits. The AI content falls into two groups. The first is business facing: what SAP Business AI is, what Joule does across S/4HANA and SuccessFactors, and more recently how Joule agents work.
It is clear and official, and it is full of product positioning. The second group is more technical: SAP AI Core, the generative AI hub, and building AI extensions on BTP. This is where developers should spend their time, although hands-on exercises usually need a BTP account and trial accounts run into limits. The certification most people see first is SAP Certified Associate for positioning SAP Business AI solutions as part of SAP Business Suite. Read the title carefully.
It tests whether you can explain and position the products, which is a presales and consulting skill. It will not show that you can build anything. Exam pricing is also a mess to research. SAP sells attempts in bundles, prices vary by region, and third-party sites quote conflicting numbers, so check the figure on SAP's own certification page for your country. One warning: search for SAP Joule certification and you will find training companies selling courses with that name.
SAP does not currently have a certification by that name. The positioning associate exam is the official AI credential, and anything else is a third-party certificate. My take: the free learning journeys are the right place to learn how AI fits into SAP, because nobody else has accurate information. Just be clear on which content is marketing and which is engineering, and pick accordingly.
