Most work management vendors have responded to the AI moment by adding a chatbot and a course explaining that the chatbot exists. Asana has done something more ambitious, and the academy reflects it. Alongside the expected material, getting started, task management, project basics, workflow design, automation, resource management, there is a genuine AI curriculum: an AI for Work skill badge, a twenty minute course on boosting personal productivity with AI, a three hour AI Studio Foundations skill badge, a sixty minute course on building agentic workflows, and live and recorded sessions on getting started with AI Studio. Three hours for a foundations badge is the tell.
That is long enough that somebody had to design a curriculum rather than record a walkthrough, and the content bears it out. AI Studio is Asana's builder for putting model-driven steps inside a workflow, and the course spends its time on the part that actually determines whether these things work, which is deciding what to hand to a model and what to leave to a rule. That is the hard problem in every agentic system and most vendor training skips straight past it to the drag and drop. The Building agentic workflows course, sixty minutes, is the one I would recommend to somebody who does not even use Asana.
It is teaching a way of thinking about where automated judgement belongs in a process, and that thinking survives contact with any other tool. It is unusual for platform training to contain something portable and it is worth noticing when it does. The credential structure is layered sensibly. The Foundations skill badge runs six courses.
The Workflow Specialist certificate is two courses plus a capstone exam, which is the only place in the catalogue with a real assessment behind it. The Administrator certificate is thirteen courses and is a genuine commitment, appropriate for somebody whose job is running Asana for a large organisation and excessive for anyone else. There are also campaign management and resource management skill badges for people in those specific seats. The catch, and it is a significant one, is access.
AI Studio is not on the cheap tiers. Doing three hours of excellent training on a feature your organisation has not bought is a specific kind of frustration, and the academy does not lead with that fact. Check what your workspace actually has before you commit an afternoon. The other structural gap, common to all vendor academies but worth restating, is that nothing here helps you decide whether Asana is right for your team.
Every course begins from the assumption that the answer is yes. If you are in an evaluation, this is sales material with homework, however good the homework is. The live sessions are popular enough to fill and the recordings do not replace them, since the value of the live AI Studio sessions is largely in watching somebody debug a workflow that is not behaving. Book early if the live slot matters to you.
Three point nine. Free, well designed, and containing at least two hours of genuinely transferable thinking about agentic workflows, which is more than almost any comparable vendor is offering. Marked down because the best material teaches a feature most Asana customers cannot access.
